What is the building code for a haunted house?

i'm with the jaycees and we have a lot of old haunted house stuff. people keep trying to convince me that its no good now. are we still allowed to use 2 X 4s ? wood panels with fire proofing? do you have to have a fire supression system? or is extinguishers enough?
