Why won't my dog jump over the fire?

So I live in San Fransisco and make my living as a street performer. I make pretty good money playing my steel drums and doing the limbo contest but I was thinking about taking it up a notch and have a fire show, you know, twirling fire sticks and stuff. The finale was going to be my labradoodle jump over a small campfire. Now before you get all preachy don's worry I will have a fire extinguisher and everything. But he doesn't want to jump over the fire, even when I offer him steak tips, he just walks around the fire. How can i train him?
