Should i focus in business rather than languages?

Hello, my uncle is getting pretty well in business at the point that he is dealing with china to bring fire extinguisher from there. he wants me to get involve in the future so i was thinking to take chinese mandarin courses but i heard advices saying that i should not spend time learning a language because i can pay a translator to do so,rather i should being studying business core to make better deals. what do you think? thank you
