Buddha: if buddha is NOT a god.. why do we need to pray/worship/chant to buddha???? philosophy... free on Web.?

The Buddha, as the name states, was the one who achieved enlightenment. He is by no means divine, he said this himself. The doctrine of his teachings is Buddhism, which arguably may be considered a religion or a philosophy, depending on your perspective.
